Jamie has spent every moment of her life on a horse. Growing up cowgirl, Jamie trained and worked at her mother’s stable in Southern California from the time she could walk. Her vast knowledge and ability with horses of all disciplines was developed by daily riding and caring for horses. After school, Jamie would return home to ride, train, groom and feed all of the stable’s horses. Rain or shine, Jamie cares for her horses and clients, never tiring from the job.
Jamie started riding at Mike Edrick Stables when she was 10-years-old and has been training with them. She has been riding for them ever since and had many accomplishments showing their horses in both junior and professional divisions. Working as a professional rider and trainer since 2009, Jamie accompanies the stable to horse shows where she prepares the horses for clients and shows them in the professional divisions.
Jamie specializes in the hunter, jumper and equitation divisions but also teaches western and dressage riding. Her training philosophy and style focus on adapting to each individual horse’s natural temperament and way of going. She believes in drawing out the best qualities of each horse, combining appropriate discipline and ample rewards. This has led to numerous championships in the jumper ring and hunter derbies. Jamie spends most of her time on horseback and aspires to one day be on the US Olympic team.
